There is plenty of wine at this star-studded event among the vines of one of the Texas Hill Country’s most prominent wineries, Becker Vineyards. Four popular South Texas chefs, James Moore, Grayze; Gino Gabriel, Becker Vineyards; Luis Colon, Folc; and Anne Ng, Bakery Lorraine will pair dishes along with guest winemakers. The result is an afternoon ever so tasty, informative, and the ideal way to start the weekend. Prepare to stay all day, this event is a leisurely one: eat and sip, tour the winery, learn more on Texas’ wine-making history and usher in a new festival weekend. Our award winning Cloudburst will be served at this event.

What do Tacos, Queso Fountains, Salsa Bars, and Seminars ranging from Wine Sampling to Mixology at Home have in common? All of these components will be featured at our Tacos and Talk (And Tasting) event during our annual Wine and Food Festival! One ticket allows you access to all things happening during the day!

Bingham Family Vineyards will be serving Dirt Farmer, Dugout, High Plains Sunset, Short Rows, and Fine ‘n Dandy.

11:00AM – Tempranillos of Texas (La Sierra). Our Dirt Farmer Tempranillo blend will be served at this time.

11:30AM – Taco Town (Plaza San Saba)
We know San Antonio’s best in this category and we’ve never met a taco we didn’t like. Celebrate San Antonio with chef driven tacos  that range in flavor like our culturally influenced city. Lcoal chefs and visitng chefs take you on a taco tour where you’ll find it’s a little bit spicy and there’s plenty of flavor.

Redeem Yourself! Come and learn about the rich heritage of American Whiskey and history of American spirits.

It’s time for a Texas Two-Sip!
Don’t miss this session where you can put your blind tasting skills to work.  Five Texas wines will be blind tasted against their international counterparts and you get to assess the wines and take a guess on which wines are from Texas.  Count on a lot of fun and a few surprises. Hosted by Texas Fine Wine – a group of five distinctive wineries dedicated to making quality wines from Texas appellation vineyards – Bending Branch Winery, Brennan Vineyards, Duchman Family Winery, Pedernales Cellars and Spicewood Vineyards.

2:45PM – Demo with Chef Rowan (Plaza San Saba)
Culinaria is proud to welcome real life Celebrity Chef Rowan to the Festival for a fascinating culinary demo. His passion for food, cooking with some of San Antonio’s great chefs and a chance to tackle a few items off of his bucket list before leaving in June for a much needed bone marrow transplant bring this 9-year old culinary sensation to Culinaria. He’s accompanied by Chef Jeff of Copa Wine Bar for a demo that is sure to please everyone’s palates.

4:00PM – Mixology at Home (City View Terrace)
Make sense of the American Mixology revolution and learn about the history of drinks, how to set up your home bar, how to navigate your local Craft Bar and make a drink or two in the process.

THE GRAND TASTING (RE-IMAGINED)

Parking for The Grand Tasting: Self Parking in Westridge only, and Valet parking on a first come first served basis for $20 per car. The Valet stand will be set up in the Grille Lot, as this is the closest spot to the Ballroom event. Once Valet is full, all parking will be Self and at Westridge.

The re-imagined Grand Tasting: creations by talented local and guest chefs along with wine as well as spirits brought to you at one spectacular event. This long-running event of Culinaria will feature some spectacular elements and all of the sights and sounds that make such a celebration complete. The limited access to the tasting will give you the opportunity to personally engage with some of the top and carefully selected local chefs who bring their premium cuisine. Also included: dancing, music and entertainment you’ll need to see to believe. It’s too hot to print.

The Grills are Hot, the Burgers are Big and the Beer is Cold. We know you’re all about that smoke and meat. So, rest assured Burgers, BBQ & Beer is here and you can throw down with your favorite chefs. The smoke and smells will lead you to your favorite chefs; you’re in charge of pairing their creations with a beer, cocktail or glass of wine. A recipe for the perfect afternoon event, pick your creation and we’ll award the chef who brings it home. Roll up your sleeves and dig in, the bib is optional.
