High Plains Winegrowers

April 19 @ 5:57 am

The primary goal of the High Plains Winegrowers is “To promote awareness of the superior quality of High Plains Wine Grapes.”

Other goals are:

  • Educate consumers on the superiority of High Plains wine grapes. Consumers need to know what types of wines are made from High Plains fruit, where to buy them and how to support the High Plains economy.
As an association, we want to convey to farmers, banks, agricultural businesses and others that wine grapes are a great crop for them to grow. We need to show others that wine growing is a profitable and sustainable crop on the High Plains.
  • Serve as mentors and actively promote wine growing to prospective farmers. Wine grapes consume less water than most rotational crops. More farmers will need to expand their crop portfolio and wine grapes can achieve a profitable level without heavy watering and large amounts of land.

If you are a grower that is interested in learning more about the High Plains Wine Growers check out their web site at HighPlainsWinegrowers.org.
