SUMMARY:Celebrate National Rosé Day 2026
DESCRIPTION:Four Estate Rosés. One Texas Vineyard.\n\n\n\nCelebrate with four estate rosésfrom the Texas High Plains.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur four 2025 rosés share more than their beautiful color and refreshing character. Each was crafted using the Saignée (sayn-YAY) Method\, a traditional French technique whose name means “to bleed.”During harvest\, winemaker Rogelio “Ro” Orocio carefully removes a portion of the lightly colored juice from red wine grapes shortly after crushing. The remaining juice becomes a more concentrated red wine\, while the “bled-off” juice is fermented separately to create rosé. \n\n\n\nThe result is a rosé with vibrant fruit\, beautiful color\, and a little more depth and character than many rosés made by direct pressing. \n\n\n\nAt Bingham Family Vineyards\, all four of these 2025 rosés were crafted using this method:🍷 Rosé of Carignan🍷 Rosé of Mourvèdre🍷 Rosé of Sangiovese🍷 High Plains Sunset Rosé (a blend of our Sangiovese and Mourvèdre rosés) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMaking rosé by the Saignée Method during the rush of harvest requires extra planning\, extra tank space\, and extra attention. It’s not the easiest path\, but we know how much our customers enjoy rosé season\, and we believe these wines are worth the effort. \n\n\n\nFrom grapes grown by Cliff Bingham\, Nathan Bingham\, and our vineyard team in the Texas High Plains to wines crafted by Ro in Meadow\, Texas\, these rosés are truly Texas from vineyard to glass. \n\n\n\nWant to learn more about the Saignée Method? Wine Folly offers a helpful overview:https://winefolly.com/deep-dive/saignee-is-unlike-other-rose-wines/ \n\n\n\nAnd then pour yourself a glass and enjoy the results. 🌹🍷 \n\n\n\nBlessings\,Betty

SUMMARY:International Merlot Day 2026: Two Expressions of Texas High Plains Merlot
DESCRIPTION:Discover Merlot’s Range\n\n\n\nInternational Merlot Day is November 7\, and this year Bingham Family Vineyards is celebrating with two expressions of Merlot from our family vineyards in the Texas High Plains. \n\n\n\nMerlot has a reputation for approachability\, but the grape can also produce structured\, concentrated wines with the ability to develop beautifully in bottle. Our 2021 Merlot and 2022 Estate Reserve Merlot show two sides of that story\, both rooted in the same Texas High Plains soils. \n\n\n\nAnd this International Merlot Day brings something new: our 2022 Estate Reserve Merlot will be released November 7. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTwo Expressions from Our Vineyards\n\n\n\nBoth wines begin in our family vineyards in the Texas High Plains AVA and are part of Bingham Family Vineyards’ estate-grown approach\, with the grapes grown and the wines produced and bottled by our team. \n\n\n\n2021 Estate Merlot\n\n\n\nOur 2021 Merlot is full-bodied\, structured and concentrated\, with fresh and dried red and black fruit notes\, black pepper\, subtle herbal character\, and spice and savory notes from oak and age. Its firm tannin structure suggests that it can continue developing in bottle\, while still showing softness and an inviting full body now. \n\n\n\nFor the table\, consider duck\, braised meats\, roasted mushrooms\, smoked cheeses\, steak with chimichurri\, or beef or eggplant lasagna. Serve at cellar temperature and decant gently. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n2022 Estate Reserve Merlot\n\n\n\nThe new 2022 Estate Reserve Merlot takes Merlot in a richer\, more luxurious direction. It is full-bodied with pronounced intensity\, showing plush ripe plum\, smoked oak\, floral tobacco notes and savory crushed-rock character. The tasting notes describe it as elegant and fully realized\, with substantial tannins and the potential to continue developing with age. \n\n\n\nPair it with ribeye or other marbled meats\, grilled meats with mushroom cream sauce or red wine jus\, nutty or richly textured cheeses\, or duck confit. Decant for about 15–30 minutes before serving. \n\n\n\nUntil our 2022 is released\, we have a limited supply of 2021 Reserve Merlot available. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCelebrate International Merlot Day with Bingham\n\n\n\nWhether you are opening a bottle now or choosing one to watch develop over time\, International Merlot Day is a chance to explore just how much range this classic grape can offer. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTaste the 2021 Merlot\, discover the new 2022 Estate Reserve Merlot beginning November 7\, and experience two expressions of Merlot grown in the Texas High Plains. \n\n\n\nVisit Bingham Family Vineyards in Hye\, Grapevine or Meadow\, explore our wines online\, or ask our team which Merlot belongs on your table. \n\n\n\nBlessings\,Betty

SUMMARY:International Tempranillo Day 2026
DESCRIPTION:From Spain the the Texas High Plains\n\n\n\nInternational Tempranillo Day is Thursday\, November 12\, and we are raising a glass to one of Spain’s signature red grapes\, a variety that has also found a home in our family vineyards in the Texas High Plains. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis year\, we are celebrating with our 2021 Tempranillo and introducing our 2022 Reserve Tempranillo. \n\n\n\nA Grape with Deep Spanish Roots\n\n\n\nTempranillo is Spain’s most widely planted red grape and is especially important in regions such as Rioja and Ribera del Duero. Its name comes from the Spanish word temprano\, meaning “early\,” because Tempranillo ripens earlier than many traditional Spanish varieties. \n\n\n\nIn Rioja\, Tempranillo is considered the region’s characteristic red grape and can be used for everything from youthful\, fruit-forward wines to reds intended for long aging. In Ribera del Duero\, the same grape is often called Tinto Fino or Tinta del País\, where it is the principal variety behind the region’s red wines. \n\n\n\nThose two regions also show why Tempranillo can be so interesting. The grape does not produce exactly the same wine everywhere it grows. Rioja is famous for beautifully age-worthy Tempranillo\, while Ribera del Duero’s climate\, with cold winters\, hot summers and strong shifts between daytime and nighttime temperatures\, can produce richer\, more structured wines. \n\n\n\nA Few Tempranillo Facts\n\n\n\n\nIts name means “little early one.” The name comes from temprano\, referring to its relatively early ripening.\n\n\n\nOne grape\, many names. In different parts of Spain you may encounter Tempranillo as Tinto Fino\, Tinta del País\, Tinta de Toro\, Cencibel or Ull de Llebre.\n\n\n\nThe vines put on their own autumn show. Tempranillo leaves can turn a vivid red in the fall.\n\n\n\nThere is even a white Tempranillo. Tempranillo Blanco is a natural mutation of red Tempranillo first discovered in Rioja in 1988. \n\n\n\n\nFor an approachable deeper dive into the grape\, Wine Folly has an excellent guide to Tempranillo\, including its Spanish growing regions\, aging styles and food pairings. \n\n\n\nTempranillo\, Grown in Texas\n\n\n\nAt Bingham Family Vineyards\, we grow Tempranillo in our family vineyards in the Texas High Plains and produce our wines at our winery in Meadow. Our wines are 100% estate grown\, produced and bottled\, giving us the opportunity to follow the wine from vineyard to bottle. \n\n\n\nThe Texas High Plains gives Tempranillo a very different home from its historic vineyards in Spain. Here\, we grow it in fine sandy loam soils at high elevation\, under broad skies and in a climate that can move quickly from summer heat to very cold winter weather. Tempranillo is one of our earlier-ripening red grapes\, often reaching harvest about three weeks after Viognier\, one of our earliest white varieties. \n\n\n\nIs Tempranillo the Red Grape of Texas?\n\n\n\nTempranillo is often mentioned as a contender for the title of Texas’s signature red grape. Around our table\, it has certainly made a convincing argument. \n\n\n\nWe have an informal measure we call the “empty bottle test.” At the end of an evening when several wines have been opened\, we cork the unfinished bottles to enjoy another day. Tempranillo is often the bottle that does not need a cork. It is already empty\, enjoyed by enough people around the table that there is simply none left to save. \n\n\n\nBut whether Tempranillo will truly become the red grape of Texas is a question only more time will answer. It can make wonderful wine\, and its relatively early ripening is certainly useful in our climate. At the same time\, Tempranillo does not always appreciate the cold winter weather we can experience on the Texas High Plains. \n\n\n\nGrowers are continuing to learn more about which rootstocks and clones may be best suited to our conditions. Those choices\, and many more years in the vineyard\, will help determine Tempranillo’s long-term place in Texas. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor now\, we know this much: it makes wine people seem very happy to finish. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n2021 Tempranillo\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur 2021 Tempranillo offers ripe red fruit and strawberry notes with herbs\, spice\, mineral tones and soft floral notes. Its structured tannins and good acidity make it a particularly food-friendly red. \n\n\n\nClassic pairings include tomato-based dishes\, barbecue\, paella and Manchego cheese. For something a little different\, try it with pork belly grits or a grilled tomato and cheese sandwich. \n\n\n\nThe 2021 Tempranillo earned Bronze at the 2026 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Uncorked International Wine Competition. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIntroducing the 2022 Reserve Tempranillo\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInternational Tempranillo Day also gives us the opportunity to introduce our 2022 Reserve Tempranillo\, the newest Estate Reserve vintage of this Spanish variety grown here in the Texas High Plains. \n\n\n\nAlongside the 2021 Tempranillo\, it offers another way to explore what Tempranillo can become in our vineyards and winery. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCelebrate Tempranillo Day with Bingham\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhether Tempranillo is already a favorite or you usually reach for Cabernet Sauvignon\, Merlot or another familiar red\, November 12 is a good excuse to explore a grape with centuries of Spanish history and a growing story here in Texas. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExplore Bingham Family Vineyards\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVisit us in Meadow\, Hye or Grapevine\, explore Bingham wines online\, or find our wines at select retailers and restaurants around Texas. \n\n\n\nTruly Texas\, from soil to song. \n\n\n\nBlessings\,Betty
