Nestled in the heart of Roanoke on Oak Street\, this new haven promises to be a true celebration of our award-winning estate wines. \n\n\n\nThe Binghams have a long family history of farming in the High Plains AVA since 1900. Cliff had farmed with his father from an early age. After twelve years of farming his row crops as Texas Department of Agriculture certified organic\, he planted grapes in 2004 with the help of his wife and children. In 2014\, the family began crafting some of their grapes into their own wine while still selling grapes to wineries all over the state of Texas. Through the years they have opened tasting rooms in Grapevine\, Hye\, and now in Roanoke\, Texas\, to share their quality wines with their friends throughout the state. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Family Welcomes You\n\n\n\nOn Saturday\, January 27th\, some of the family will be there to welcome our friends. Daughters\, Marissa and Sierra\, will be there to play some duet music as well as talking with our friends about our vineyards and winery and their work in both. This wine is a very balanced red- the tannin\, the acid\, the oak\, the alcohol\, all balance out in the glass and on the palate. \n\n\n\nBlueberries\, ripe plums\, pepper\, smoke and hints of oak really make this wine complex and savory. This wine will continue to age very well in bottles- set a few aside and come back in 3 years and see how it has changed. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDue to back-to-back frosts on the High Plains in 2020\, our vineyards suffered substantial crop losses. While 2019 was a bountiful year\, 2020 was not. The bright spot in not having the normal tonnages we annually produce\, what fruit we did produce was fantastic quality. The 2020 Cab Franc Reserve was a small batch lot that was aged in new American and French oak barrels for twenty-four months. \n\n\n\nOnly six barrels of 2020 Reserve Cabernet Franc were produced. The wine was made in a traditional French fashion with no tannin additives or other flavor “enhancers”. The wine was simply fermented on its skins for seven days and then gently pressed into barrels and aged for two years.
