SUMMARY:International Albariño Day 2024
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate International Albariño Day with Bingham Family Vineyards 2023 Albariño\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInternational Albariño Day is a special day celebrated to honor a type of white wine called Albariño. This wine grape originally comes from a place called Galicia in Spain\, where the weather is cool and the land is near the ocean. These conditions make the Albariño grapes grow really well there. \n\n\n\nTexas Albariño\n\n\n\nIn the Texas High Plains AVA (American Viticultural Area)\, Albariño grapes have found a new home. This area in Texas is known for its high elevation\, sunny days\, and cool nights\, which create a good environment for growing grapes. The Texas High Plains AVA has well-drained soils\, which help the Albariño vines produce high-quality grapes. Winemakers in Texas are excited about growing Albariño because it brings a unique taste to their wines and shows that Texas can produce excellent wines\, too. As more people discover Albariño from Texas\, it adds to the excitement and diversity of wines available in the United States. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMore about Albariño\n\n\n\nWine Pros has a nice post about Albariño wine for those that want to research more. Read more here. \n\n\n\nCelebrating the Day\n\n\n\nPeople celebrate this day by tasting Albariño wine and learning about its flavors. It’s known for tasting fresh and fruity\, like peaches or apricots. Some people also say it has a hint of something called “minerality\,” which means it tastes a bit like rocks or stones – not in a bad way\, though. \n\n\n\nOn International Albariño Day\, wine lovers around the world share their love for this special wine by enjoying it with meals like seafood\, salads\, or just as a refreshing drink on a hot day. It’s a time to appreciate the unique flavors and the place where the grapes are grown. SUMMARY:National White Wine Day - 2024
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate National White Wine Day with Bingham Family Vineyards\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCelebrating National White Wine Day with Bingham Family Vineyards’ estate wines is a delightful experience\, showcasing the diverse and high-quality white wines produced in the Texas High Plains AVA. Bingham Family Vineyards offers a fantastic selection of white wines that cater to a variety of palates. For those who enjoy crisp and refreshing wines\, our Albariño is a must-try. Known for its bright acidity and notes of citrus and stone fruits\, this wine pairs wonderfully with seafood dishes\, fresh salads\, and light appetizers. It’s a perfect choice for a summer celebration\, embodying the fresh and lively spirit of white wine. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor a more aromatic and complex white wine\, consider Bingham’s Gewürztraminer or Viognier. Gewürztraminer is renowned for its aromatic bouquet of lychee\, rose petals\, and spice\, offering a slightly sweet and exotic flavor profile. It pairs beautifully with spicy cuisine\, such as Thai or Indian dishes\, enhancing the flavors with its fragrant character. Viognier\, on the other hand\, provides rich floral and peach aromas with a full-bodied texture\, making it an excellent companion to creamy dishes\, roasted poultry\, and soft cheeses. These wines showcase Bingham’s ability to produce aromatic whites that are both elegant and expressive. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAnother exceptional choice for National White Wine Day is Bingham’s Roussanne or Marsanne. These Rhône varietals are known for their rich\, honeyed flavors and creamy textures. Roussanne offers notes of pear\, honey\, and herbal tea\, creating a sophisticated wine that pairs well with grilled fish\, herbed chicken\, and vegetable dishes. Marsanne complements this with flavors of almonds\, quince\, and a hint of spice\, providing a luxurious mouthfeel that’s perfect for pairing with richer fare such as pork or veal. Celebrating with Bingham Family Vineyards’ white wines allows you to enjoy a variety of styles and flavors\, all while supporting a dedicated family winery that excels in sustainable and innovative winemaking practices. \n\n\n\nAt Bingham vineyards we grow ten white grapes\, Albariño\, Gewürztraminer\, Malvasia Bianca\, Marsanne\, Moscato Giallo\, Roussanne\, Sémillon\, Trebbiano\, Vermentino\, and Viognier. We craft a varietal wine out of each of these wines \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou might notice a new label in the mix. We have a new Texas wine wine blend called “Texas Sunshine” which will be available at the new Costco opening in Richmond\, Texas\, some time this month. There will be a red wine blend called “Texas Tribute” there as well. More on that in an upcoming post. \n\n\n\nExplore all of our white Texas wines and semi-sweet white wines on our website for ordering directly to your home or office. \n\n\n\nBlessings\,Betty

SUMMARY:Texas Wine Flavor Class | Roanoke
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a wine class with Texas wine \n\n\n\nDo you know what wines you enjoy? \n\n\n\nLet us answer any and all questions you may have about the sometimes complicated world of wine! \n\n\n\nWine tasting is a fascinating journey that allows you to explore your senses and preferences. You are sure to leave with a greater understanding of how to purchase wine YOU will love in the future. \n\n\n\nIf you can imagine your own spice rack\, going down the line from Allspice to Cardamom to Marjoram\, you’ll likely be able to find spices in wine that highlight that flavor. And interestingly\, there is a likely fundamental chemical similarity between the flavors expressed in that spice\, and what you taste in a wine! \n\n\n\nIn general\, oak\, and particularly new oak can impart many of these tastes to a wine\, and one of the reasons that oak is often called a vintner’s “spice rack.” These spices can include the aforementioned vanilla and cloves\, but also aromas of smoke\, spice\, butterscotch\, caramel\, and coconut. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOnce you have learned what your preferred level and type of spice you prefer in wine\, you can better explore our wines to find what you will like. \n\n\n\n\nChoose your Wines by flavor\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you can’t make it to Roanoke for the class\, sign up for our newsletter where we will give you information on the flavor aspects each month.

SUMMARY:National Red Wine Day - 2024
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the day with Bingham Family Vineyards Texas Wine\n\n\n\nAugust 28\, 2024\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe informative wine web site “Wine Folly” reminds us that August 28\, 2024\, is to be celebrated as National Red Wine Day. A great day for exploring the wide range of red grapes grown in the Texas High Plains AVA. \n\n\n\nCelebrating National Red Wine Day with estate Texas wines from Bingham Family Vineyards is a delightful way to honor this special occasion. Located in the Texas High Plains AVA\, Bingham Family Vineyards offers a diverse selection of red wines crafted from grapes grown in our own vineyards. This region’s unique climate and soil conditions produce exceptional wines that reflect the distinct characteristics of each grape variety. For a robust and classic choice\, you can enjoy our 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon\, known for its rich flavors of dark fruits and hints of oak\, making it a perfect pairing with grilled meats or hearty stews. Or our classic 2019 Dugout which is red Bordeaux style blend of Merlot\, Petit Verdot\, Cabernet Sauvignon\, Tempranillo\, and Cabernet Franc. This oak aged for two years wine is bold and complex like the frontier. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTexas Dolcetto and Texas Graciano Wine\n\n\n\nFor those looking to explore something unique\, the vineyard’s Dolcetto or Graciano wines provide an exciting departure from more common varieties. Dolcetto\, typically found in Italian wines\, offers bright fruit flavors and a smooth finish\, ideal for sipping on a warm Texas evening. Graciano\, a lesser-known Spanish grape\, brings a spicy and aromatic profile that pairs wonderfully with spicy dishes or aged cheeses. These wines showcase the versatility and innovation of Bingham Family Vineyards in cultivating a wide array of grape varieties that thrive in the Texas climate. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBingham grows twelve red wine grapes including Cabernet Franc\, Cabernet Sauvignon\, Carignan\, Dolcetto\, Graciano\, Merlot\, Mourvèdre\, Petit Verdot\, Sangiovese\, Tannat\, Tempranillo. and Teroldego. Making each into a varietal wines as the grapes are available as well as blending those to make some traditional as well as some Cabernet Franc\, Cabernet Sauvignon\, Carignan\, Dolcetto\, Graciano\, Merlot\, Mourvèdre\, Petit Verdot\, Sangiovese\, Tannat\, Tempranillo. and Teroldego. Texas wine blends. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTexas Tempranillo and Texas Merlot Wine\n\n\n\nNo celebration of National Red Wine Day would be complete without sampling the vineyard’s Tempranillo and Merlot. Tempranillo\, with its deep\, earthy flavors\, and smooth tannins\, is a staple of Spanish winemaking that has found a second home in Texas. It’s a perfect match for barbecued dishes and Tex-Mex cuisine. Meanwhile\, Merlot offers a softer\, fruit-forward experience with notes of plum and cherry\, making it an excellent choice for those new to red wines or looking for a versatile option to pair with a variety of foods. By celebrating with Bingham Family Vineyards’ wines\, you not only enjoy high-quality\, locally-produced wines but also support a family-owned business dedicated to sustainable and innovative winemaking practices. \n\n\n\nNew Label Designs for Bingham Family Vineyards\n\n\n\nYou many notice a few new label designs in the array in the photo above. We have our flagship label with Grancy’s farm scene drawing on it as well as our black and gold reserve wine label. But we now have our special labels for our Blake Eddie Scholarship dry red wine which is a wine and label exclusive to HEB\, as well as a new label design exclusively for our wine to be sold at Costco. We have two new releases to be sold at Costco at the new Costco in Tomball\, Texas. We have two new releases to be sold there. One being our “Texas Tribute” which is a Tempranillo red wine blend. There will also be a white wine blend called “Texas Sunshine” which is a white wine blend with Roussanne. More on that in an upcoming post. We also have a new label that will be used on our wine blends sold in other retail store. Can’t wait to see that one\, right? \n\n\n\nCliff Bingham visits Costco\, Tomball\, Texas\n\n\n\nThe Dirt Farmer (Cliff Bingham) will be at the Tomball location to talk Texas wine on Thursday\, August 29th through Sunday\, September 1st\, through out the day. \n\n\n\nWe are happy that our wines are becoming available in more places for our friends to acquire them as well as the convenience of having those wines shipped directly to your home or office. Enjoy a Bingham Texas wine today. \n\n\n\nBlessings\,Betty
