SUMMARY:Women for WineSense Texas Tour 2023
DESCRIPTION:Wine\, Dine and Shine in Texas Hill Country\, May 18-20\, 2023Join us along with wine enthusiasts and professionals for a three-day weekend in Fredericksburg in the heart of the Texas Hill Country wine region. \n\n\n\nWe will spend the day visiting three local wineries for tours and tastings in the Texas Hill Country. Our morning begins with our assigned groups visiting either William Chris Vineyards or Hilmy Cellars. Our entire group will reconvene at Becker Vineyards for a special tasting and tour along with an amazing lunch. After lunch\, our respective groups we will continue on to visit the winery we didn’t get to enjoy in the morning. \n\n\n\nBingham Family Vineyards will be serving wine at the Welcome Reception on Thursday. Marissa Bingham Dobson will be one of the speakers at the conference on Saturday. \n\n\n\nThursday\, May 18\, 2023Welcome Reception | 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM\n\n\n\nA walk around tasting from multiple wineries from across the state of Texas with a focus on Texas Hill Country.  The reception will be held at the Fredericksburg Inn & Suites. \n\n\n\nFriday\, May 19\, 2023Winery/Vineyard Experiences\n\n\n\nWe will spend the day visiting three local wineries for tours and tastings in the Texas Hill Country.  Our morning begins with our assigned groups visiting either William Chris Vineyards or Hilmy Cellars.  Our entire group will reconvene at Becker Vineyards for a special tasting and tour along with an amazing lunch.  After lunch\, our respective groups we will continue on to visit the winery we didn’t get to enjoy in the morning.  \n\n\n\nSaturday\, May 20\, 2023Educational Sessions | 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM\n\n\n\nAttend seminars lead by four exceptional wine experts in the Texas wine industry.  Our seminar topics and speakers include: The History of the Texas Hill Country AVA and the New Texas Grape and Wine Institute with Susan Auler from Fall Creek Vineyards;  Lone Star State of Mind: Texas Wines and Stories that Inspire with Shelly Wilfong from the This is Texas Wine podcast; Characteristics of Texas AVAs with Comparative Wine Tasting with Ed Hellman\, Professor of Viticulture and Enology at Texas Tech University; and The Evolution of Texas Wines – See How Far We’ve Come! with Maureen Qualia\, Enology  Lecturer at Texas Tech University. The Master of Ceremonies for our seminars is Amy Gross\, CEO of Vine Sleuth and our new Women For WineSense National President. \n\n\n\nSaturday\, May 20\, 2023Lunch | 12 – 2 PM\n\n\n\nWe will attend a multi-course catered lunch at Fredericksburg Inn & Suites between our morning and afternoon Educational Sessions. We will host a Texas Women In Wine panel with Marissa Bingham Dodson\, Winery Manager at Bingham Family Vineyards; Rachel Fanning\, Winemaker at Augusta Vin Winery and Vineyards; and Benedicte Rhyne\, Winemaker at Kulhman Cellars and creator of Educational Journey during our luncheon. Karla Barber\, Past President of Women For WineSense will be the panel moderator. \n\n\n\nSaturday\, May 20\, 2023Dinner | 6:30 PM\n\n\n\nWe will hold a farewell dinner at Feast & Merriment with local foods and more sampling Texas wines.  A great time for networking and social interactions.
