What are we working on now

We have been busy working can’t you see …

Daniel, winery, & boots

Even with the holidays and visiting with family and friends, we have been running tractors to  plow in compost to keep the fields fertile, doing end of the year book work and figures, making sure that irrigation is running well with no leaks and no broken lines, and now since we have added the winery to the list of things to get done, moving barrels and testing wine. As you can see our assistant wine maker, Daniel, is soooo hard at work that he hasn’t given me an update lately, but that is what I am going to encourage him to do. Talk him into giving us a regular update about what is going on at the winery. So we will see what we can come up with to share with you.

The next chapter in the story

We were making plans to put in equipment and facilities to process the huge amount of wine grapes that we normally produce each year to send to our many wonderful winemaker friends and with the hope that we might start making some wine of our own.

Then came the opportunity to purchase Pheasant Ridge Winery which is a highly respected High Plains winery and vineyard that our friends Bobby and Jennifer Cox started in 1979. The current owners were wanting to move on to other opportunities, so they decided to auction off the winery and vineyard.
