Surprises are fun. This morning as I was shopping for my breakfast I found one.
Some of us have been in Grapevine to visit our tasting room there. Staying at the Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center, I went to the coffee shop to pick up some breakfast. Looking into the drink refrigerator to find something interesting, I found some Duchman Vermentino made from grapes from our vineyard.
There it was right by some wine that Duchman made from our neighbor’s, the Oswalds, vineyard. It brought feelings of accomplishment. Sometimes we get so busy working on details that we forget what the end is that we are working towards. It is nice just to see it in a finished product.
And no, I didn’t buy any Vermentino to go with my breakfast, but it would be very nice for a little later in the day. More work for us tomorrow in Grapevine, and more work out in the vineyards in Meadow. But so far there is a good grape crop growing this season. We just need to remind ourselves how enjoyable the finished product is to encourage us for tomorrow’s work.
Blessings,
Betty
