The GrapeFest Vintners’ Auction Classic is just around the corner. You can click on the link to see their web site or here is a little quote from their web site:
The Vintners’ Auction Classic is a premier event that will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 12. This event is being held at the Grapevine Convention Center. The live and silent auctions draw a large crowd of supporters each year. This year’s Vintners’ Auction will feature a BarBQues Galore Grand Turbo 52 Gas Grill.
The Vintners’ Auction supports two worthy beneficiaries, the Grapevine Heritage Foundation and the Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association. Tickets are $25 each.
We haven’t been to this event before, but we would really, really like to try to go this year. We still have a week or two of grape harvest to go. I guess maybe growing some great grapes to be made into great wine is more important than us getting to go to a party and enjoying some great Texas wine, but … maybe not, or maybe we will get to do both!
So here is what My Honey and I decided to donate for the auction.
This is a print of a pastel painting that My Honey’s mom did! Isn’t it just beautiful! Ohhh, I had such a hard time parting with it. The only reason I could is that I am thinking about giving My Honey one for Christmas. But then again, when he reads this blog – than it wouldn’t be a surprise, right. O’ well, I could get one and give it to myself for Christmas.
Here is a little closer look at the frame. I thought that the frame went well with the “Hill Country” theme. What do you think? The print, “Magill Peak,” is a signed and numbered print being 2 of only 150 prints. 09/18/09 UPDATE: Grancy’s painting wasn’t put into the auction at the Vintner’s Classic instead it is being sold tomorrow night at the Texas Wine Tribute!
This event will take place on Saturday, September 19, at the Hilton DFW Lakes. The evening begins with a reception at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7:30 p.m. This is a ticketed event and sells out quickly every year. The Texas Wine Tribute, a black-tie gala, also features a silent auction.
So, you haven’t totally missed out on your chance – see you Saturday night at the Texas Wine Tribute at the Hilton DFW Lakes .
