Newsom Vineyards
Events from this organizer
Just outside the West Texas community of Plains, a mere 15 miles from the New Mexico border, is where you’ll find one of the oldest, most respected vineyards in Texas and a welcoming place to rest, relax and refresh.
In 1986 Neal Newsom and his wife, Janice, along with his mother, Laverne, planted 5,000 Cabernet Sauvignon plants on five acres. Today, the family has 92 bearing acres which produce nearly 400 tons of grapes annually. Many award-winning wines have been produced from Newsom’s grapes.
The family also operates the Rock’n-N Bed and Breakfast near the vineyard. Four themed rooms each with a private bathroom make the B&B a comfortable place to rest from your travels.
