2026 San Francisco International Wine Competition Winners

A Proud Moment for Our Texas High Plains Vineyards

Gold, Silver, and Bronze for Texas High Plains Wines

We are pleased to share that three Bingham Family Vineyards wines have received awards at the prestigious 2026 San Francisco International Wine Competition, earning recognition among wines from around the world.

Bingham Family Vineyards celebrates three awards at the 2026 San Francisco International Wine Competition: Gold for 2025 High Plains Sunset Rosé, Silver for 2023 Reserve Sémillon, and Bronze for 2021 Star Petit Verdot. Three wine bottles are displayed against an elegant vineyard-inspired background.

Our 2025 High Plains Sunset Rosé received Gold, our 2023 Reserve Sémillon earned Silver, and our 2021 Star Petit Verdot received Bronze.

Each wine represents something different, from a refreshing dry rosé to a rich, complex white and a bold, structured red. What they share is their beginning in our family vineyards in the Texas High Plains, where the grapes are grown before being crafted and bottled at our winery in Meadow, Texas.

About the San Francisco International Wine Competition

Established in 1980, the San Francisco International Wine Competition is one of the longest-running international wine competitions in the United States. Organized by The Tasting Alliance, it brings together wines from producers around the world for evaluation by experienced wine professionals.

The competition uses blind judging, meaning judges evaluate wines without knowing the brand or producer. They consider quality, balance, structure, and how well each wine represents its variety and style.

For our family and winemaking team, recognition in this competition is especially meaningful because our wines are evaluated alongside wines from established winegrowing regions around the world.

Meet Our Three Award-Winning Wines

GOLD | 2025 High Plains Sunset Rosé

Our 2025 High Plains Sunset Rosé received a Gold award, bringing international recognition to this refreshing, dry Texas rosé.

Made from estate-grown grapes, this wine offers inviting aromas of strawberry and guava, followed by intriguing notes of cream, bitter orange peel, and a refreshing minerality.

Though beautifully aromatic and fruit-forward, the wine finishes crisp and dry, making it a versatile choice for enjoying on its own or with food.

Suggested pairings: Fresh seafood, roasted pork, fruit salads with vinaigrette, or a simple thin-crust cheese pizza.

SILVER | 2023 Reserve Sémillon

Our 2023 Reserve Sémillon earned a Silver award, highlighting the depth and versatility of this white grape variety when grown in the Texas High Plains.

Rich yet restrained, this medium-bodied white offers aromas of stone fruit, flowers, spices, and toasted nuts. Its soft, savory character develops beautifully in the glass, making it a thoughtful choice for a special meal.

Unlike many lighter white wines, this Sémillon has enough substance to complement rich and satisfying dishes.

Suggested pairings: Crab cakes, roasted chicken, mushroom tartlets, or a salad with blue cheese and walnuts.

Serve chilled, but not overly cold, to allow its aromas and character to emerge.

BRONZE | 2021 Star Petit Verdot

Our 2021 Star Petit Verdot received a Bronze award, recognizing a bold Texas red with remarkable intensity and structure.

Petit Verdot is known for producing deeply colored, expressive wines, and this vintage offers rich plum aromas, generous spice, and intriguing notes of wildflowers and wintergreen. Its full body, firm structure, and long finish make it particularly appealing to those who enjoy substantial red wines.

As it develops, additional notes of leather and tobacco add complexity.

Suggested pairings: Grilled sausages, aged Gouda, truffle risotto, or a hearty mushroom dish.

For those enjoying this wine now, decanting is recommended.

Where to find it: Our Star Petit Verdot is available through select retail locations, including participating Total Wine & More stores. Availability varies by location.
